Mike King has for years been known as the iconic Kiwi entertainer but that role has changed dramatically since the conception of his hugely popular radio show 'The Nutters Club'.
The show evolved from Mike’s own experience of mental illness and addiction and has become a huge success. The aim of the show is to ‘forever change the way people feel, think, talk and behave in relation to mental health’.
Whether you need a speaker to tackle some of the big issues or simply want your audience to be moved and inspired look no further than Mike King!
Current work
These days Mike is better known for his work as a prominent mental health educator and motivational speaker with the work he does under his charity and with his conference speaking. Mike's aim is to reverse the population trends of depression and suicide by effecting a positive social change.
Mike works with all levels within an organisation to help with mental health and safety in the workplace. His message tells of how he overcame drug and alcohol addiction, and his continued battle against depression.
It is accessible and pertinent to all staff and often helps companies identify anyone who may be struggling and in need of further assistance.

- Mike was just awesome, he made our tradesmen models feel very relaxed and the event was all the better because of Mikes presence.
Bespoke Your Bloke - Outperformed expectations. An amazing blend of humour and messages which were perfect for the event.
The Tatua Dairy Co-operative Dairy Company Ltd - Mike was professional. Lots of laughs. Some 'interesting' heckles that Mike used to with good effect. Appropriate and hilarious break in a long awards ceremony.
Crabtree Associates - Mike was fantastic, he interacted with people and kept the flow going throughout the whole day.
Highly recommend and we will certainly use him again for up coming events
Humes Pipeline Systems - Mike was fantastic, read the audience right from the beginning of the event, couldn't have been better.
Stewarts Electrical Supplies - I actually got very good feedback from older males in the audience so his story definitely relates to them. Very good combination of humour with a real take home message. He stayed for a long time afterwards as well and was easily approachable by the attendees.
Taranaki Veterinary Centre - Mike was a great speaker. He hit the nail on the head with his topic and managed to include humour in a tasteful way. He engaged everyone who was there, which was reflected in our evaluation forms completed by the delegates.
Rangitikei District Council - Mike King gave a very good talk on his journey through mental health issues. It was funny, moving and with a great message. The parent talk could easily have been attended by children/young adults as the content was appropriate for all ages. We fully recommend his talk to anyone considering it, especially to High Schools. I think it would also be beneficial for all High School staff to attend the talk. I wish him well.
Cashmere School - As part of our 'Wellness' programme for staff we wanted an inspirational speaker who could open minds to the signals and signs of mental illness. Mike King filled this void for us. He was passionate, he was authentic, he was as humorous as you can be on such an important topic. He engaged well with our staff by highlighting his own challenges and drawing staff into his journey through their own experiences. It was two hours of a thoughtful, insightful, well prepared presentation. As part of the presentation, Mike allowed ample time for engagement and for questions. He responded to questions fully and truthfully. All in all it was a life changing experience which has helped to set us on the path of implementing our 'Wellness' programme for the benefit of all our staff. I would thoroughly recommend Mike King as a speaker and motivator for being true to yourself and making changes to improve your life.

" The level of communication between Stefanie, Sophie and myself was great. It was reassuring knowing that if we had any problems or concerns we were able to contact CS and these would be resolved. I really appreciated the knowledge that was shared in the initial stages of our bookings. Stefanie listened to what we were after for our event and was able to suggest fitting MC's who would suit the brief provided and in the end deciding on the perfect fit of Antonia Prebble.
