Richard Loe is a former All Black prop who made his All Black debut against the French Barbarians in 1986, aged 25.

Rugby career

Richard has an impressive rugby career. He played his first senior game for Glenmark in 1977 when he was 17. He has represented Canterbury (1980 - 1981), Marlborough (1982 - 1984) and Waikato (1985 - 1994), the last three years as Captain. A return to Canterbury saw him again representing that province (1995 - 1996) and the Canterbury Crusaders in 1996, playing nine games as Captain. Finally, in 1997 he played four games for the Waikato Chiefs.

His first test match was against Italy in the 1987 Rugby World Cup. He represented New Zealand on 78 occasions, played in 50 tests and captained New Zealand three times before his international career ended in 1995.

No other New Zealand Prop or Front Row player has scored more than Richard Loe - 57 tries in first class rugby.
