Public Liability Insurance

Why is Public Liability Insurance Important to you as a speaker/mc/entertainer?

  1. Protection Against Claims – Public liability insurance covers the speaker if a third party (such as an event organiser, venue, or attendee) claims they suffered injury or property damage due to the speaker’s actions or negligence.
  2. Venue & Client Requirements – Many venues and corporate clients require speakers to have public liability insurance before they can present. Without it, a speaker may not be able to secure certain bookings. (This requirement is increasing, especially for international bookings).
  3. Legal & Financial Security – If a claim arises, legal fees and compensation costs can be significant. Insurance helps cover these expenses, protecting the speaker from financial strain.
  4. Peace of Mind – Having coverage ensures that both the speaker and their clients can focus on delivering a great event without worrying about potential risks.

While not legally required, public liability insurance is highly recommended for professional speakers to safeguard their business and reputation.

Celebrity Speakers Public Liability insurance does not cover our talent as we are in a contractor relationship as opposed to employer – employee.

We advise that you reach out to your insurance advisor to seek advice.
