Looking for some summer holiday inspiration? We asked a few our expert speakers for their top suggestions!

TO VISIT

Inspirational speaker, William Pike is always looking for his next adventure with his beautiful family in tow! William’s top spots to visit this summer include:

  1. Snorkelling at Goat Island. Tip: check the Goat Island Facebook Page for a visibility report. 6m+ is good. Get there early, it gets busy!
  2. Waitakere Ranges - Omanawanui Track to Signal House Track - an adventurous walk that is sure to burn off the Xmas dinner. Check track status before going.
  3. Rangitoto Summit - Catch the Fullers Ferry to Islington Bay. Take plenty of water and take your togs for a dip at McKenzie Bay!

TO READ

This summer you’ll find renowned actress, Antonia Prebble relaxing in the shade with a beach bag full of best-sellers. Antonia’s top pick:

Humankind by Rutger Bregman. It's a fascinating and wonderfully optimistic book that argues that our true nature is much more kind and loving than we may have thought! It's beautifully written, and definitely makes you feel hopeful about the future - which can only be a good thing after a challenging year.

TO WATCH

Rainy day, no problem! Want to escape the heat and humidity in an air conditioned cinema? Newshub Entertainment Editor and Film Reviewer, Kate Rodger, always has us sorted. This summer, Kate suggests:

Do NOT miss the epic Sci-Fi masterpiece that is Dune - big screen otherworld escapism at its finest! If quirky art-house comedy is more your jam - Wes Anderson has the long awaited delight "The French Dispatch". And if staying in the comfort of home for some serious summer bingeing is your preference, three seasons of the sensational HBO show Succession is just a few clicks away on Sky/Neon or genius comic relief courtesy of Ted Lasso, two wonderful seasons on AppleTV. Better summer living through bingeing everyone!

TO EAT

Our team are big foodies and we love Nadia Lim's super easy, fresh and delicious Christmas recipes! Our top three picks have to be:

  1. Salmon with cranberry, parsley & nut crust
  2. Asparagus, kumara, walnut and parmesan salad
  3. Blueberry and lemon curd pavlova
We hope this gives you some great ideas for your summer adventures or stay-cations this festive season!
