William’s presentation was fantastic! For most of the presentation, you could have heard a pin drop, apart from the ‘in sync’ laughter and occasional ooooh and arghhhh from the 200 strong audience. His story was unique, engaging and delivered in such a way that it kept the audience on the edge of their seat. It also emphasised the key conference themes relating to the importance of the patient, their family and collaboration between healthcare providers. I heard William speak at the Icehouse Annual Conference a couple of weeks ago. William was incredibly inspiring and I knew right then and there that he was someone I wanted to speak to my team at Bluerock. William was a perfect fit for our organisation. The next day I had William was booked in to speak after a team cooking event at our Food Group Conference, where he inspired and engaged the group to step outside of their comfort zone to achieve above and beyond your personal best. The team found William's story very moving and I received a lot of positive feedback. One particular comment stood out by one of my staff: 'when you think life is hard, just think someone else has it harder and life is not that bad overall, we just need to make the most of it.'
We felt the night needed something different, something memorable, an event that would stay with our customers. For a group of 45-50 people, I initially thought a guest speaker would be a little over the top, how wrong I was! In a reasonably small, intimate venue William was able to deliver his story and more importantly his message in an incredibly personal way. People hung to every word, grimaced with William's descriptions of his ordeal and laughed as life and death situations were made light. Overall William's presentation was incredibly professional and entertaining. The key takeaways were, challenge yourself every day, step outside your comfort zone and set big goals in whatever your journey may be. A number of the audience members told me how William's message of challenging one’s self was the tipping point to take on their own challenge. Some spoke of a physical challenge, personal development goals or inspiring their staff through what they have learned from the presentation.
His key messages were on point - "it's good to step outside your comfort zone" really resonated. William's ability to tell his story and keep everyone's interest was excellent.
