Dr Daniel
Nour

Founder of Street Side Medics & NSW Young Australian of the Year 2022

Discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life.

Profile

Dr Daniel Nour is a doctor, innovator and social entrepreneur transforming healthcare access in Australia. As the Founder of Street Side Medics, Daniel leads a national not-for-profit delivering mobile medical care to people experiencing homelessness, bridging critical gaps in the healthcare system.

A first-generation Australian with Egyptian heritage, Daniel’s journey reflects resilience, purpose and a commitment to service. After studying medicine at James Cook University and training in cardiology research both locally and internationally, he was moved to act after witnessing a medical emergency on the streets of London. That moment sparked the creation of Street Side Medics, now an award-winning initiative operating mobile medical clinics in Sydney and Melbourne, with plans underway for further national expansion.

Daniel’s leadership has seen Street Side Medics grow from a single idea to a national movement, backed by hundreds of volunteers and significant government support. His ability to combine clinical excellence with grassroots action earned him the title of Young Australian of the Year in 2022.

In 2023, Daniel became the first Australian to receive the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award, accepting the Spirituality Award for his work with Street Side Medics.

As a Speaker, Daniel shares powerful lessons on leadership, resilience, purpose and creating lasting impact. His keynotes are engaging, heartfelt, and practical, inspiring audiences to think differently about what it takes to lead, innovate, and drive change in complex environments.

Whether speaking to corporate leaders, government agencies or community groups, Daniel leaves audiences with a renewed sense of what is possible when passion meets action.

Our conference closed with an inspiring (and at times hilarious) presentation from 2022 Young Australian of the Year, Dr Daniel Nour, who recounted his journey to founding Street Side Medics, the mobile medical van bridging the gap between homelessness and the healthcare system. Daniel's message was, 'if an idea is worth doing, try it.'

Community Housing Industry Association

Daniel was amazing, the event we were running was for students from all verticals (design, health, business, education & hospitality). We were a little nervous getting started that the keynote messaging may be more relevant to the health students however this wasn't the case and the session spoke to everyone. Daniel delivered a fantastic and relatable keynote for all our students and staff and the session had heaps of engagement from our live, online and interstate audiences which is amazing and uncommon. Huge thank you to Dr. Nour for being an amazing kick-off to the event and events on campus. We very much look forward to collaborating with him and Street Side Medics more in the future.
