Former Tall Black and Breakers great Dillon Boucher continued as a player with the Super City Rangers Basketball Team until 2018.
Basketball: Dillon was formerly a player in the New Zealand Breakers basketball franchise that won back to back championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in the Australian National Basketball League. The Breakers were the first New Zealand team to have won an Australian Championship in any code.
Dillon was also part of the successful Tall Blacks team at the 2002 World Championships. Against the odds, the team placed fourth in the tournament, above the USA Dream Team. Dillon was a Member of the Tall Blacks from 1999-2011 and played over 100 games.
A member of NBL Championship Teams in 1995, 96, 97, 99, 2000, 04 and 05 (Auckland) and 2002 (Waikato) - in which Dillon shot winning free throws to win the game, Dillon holds the record for most number of NBL titles won (eight). Dillon was voted Kiwi MVP and member of the All-Star Five in the 2003 league, and played two seasons for the Harvey Norman NZ Breakers before signing with Perth Wildcats in 2005/06. He played for the Brisbane Bullets from 2006-2008 then returned to the NZ Breakers in 2009.
After 19 years of professional basketball, seven years of travel and tourism, and three years of running his own coaching business, Dillon has had success in many different aspects of life.
Dillon is a very motivated and hard working individual who enjoys networking. He lives by the motto - “To be the best, you have to face your hardest opponent - yourself!” Dillon believes that if you believe in yourself 100%, then nothing can come between you and success.
Dillon is passionate about basketball and encourages everyone to be involved in sport. Dillon was named General Manager for the SKYCITY Breakers in 2016, so is able to talk about the parallels between business and coaching.
