Dunedin-based Doug Kamo is one of the busiest producers, directors and entertainment practitioners in the country having amassed an impressive array of drama, television, concert, musical theatre and corporate entertainment credits.
In 2021, Doug joined the HITS Dunedin Breakfast crew - the most awarded regional breakfast show across the network. Dunedin Breakfast with “Doug and Patrina” is on weekdays across Otago from 6-9am on 89.4FM and on iHeartRadio.
Doug has become renowned New Zealand wide for his improvisational skills and for developing exceptional engaging characters and interactive entertainment relevant to any event, environment or circumstance.
As a producer and director Doug has been responsible for bringing over 60 national and international musical theatre productions to the south and beyond. He also produced and directed the community opening of the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, is one of the founders of the Queenstown Shotover Jet Remarkable Christmas Stadium Spectacular and is founder of the Otago Southland Theatre Awards.
Doug has a wealth of experience and his skills as a comedian, singer, dancer and writer ensure an exciting MC experience - one that has been engaged by corporate giants such as Rugby World Cup 2011, Motorsport NZ, Queenstown Winter Festival, NZ Travel Industry Awards, CINZ, IBANZ, Vodafone, Telecom, L’Oreal, Air New Zealand, Coca Cola, Saatchi & Saatchi, Sovereign Insurance and many others.

Doug’s professionalism and quick response to assist us in Plan B - our virtual event - was pivotal in making this happen. He recommended a film and editing crew who were fantastic. The changes to the script, the segue to an online event and coordination with the filming were handled smoothly and provided an easy experience during a stressful time.
