Kate's musical performance is a blend of her angelic voice with the smaller Celtic harp, showcasing songs not only from her own Celtic homeland of Scotland but also from many other different cultures and musical genres.

A Princes’ Trust Ambassador, Kate performed in Scotland at the Opening of Scottish Parliament in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen, for JK Rowling at the launch of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at Edinburgh Castle and aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia on many occasions. Kate won the UK Songwriting Contest in 2007 after being awarded Music and Culture Icon for Scotland 2004 by the Scottish tourist board, Visit Scotland. Kate has recorded 6 albums and her music is streamed on Spotify.

Resident in Asia for over 12 years, Kate’s performance highlights in China include the Shanghai Expo, the Irish President’s visit to Beijing, the First Minister of Scotland’s ministerial tour of China, British Prime Minister and the British Gold Medallists Official Reception at the Beijing Olympics, Phoenix Television’s 30 Year Anniversary at The Great Hall in Beijing’s Forbidden City and numerous concerts at The Forbidden City Concert Hall and the Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre.

In 2009 Kate wrote and recorded a charity song called Day by Day, in English and Mandarin to raise money and awareness for the Sichuan earthquake survivors one year on. Sponsored by Heng An Standard Life, Day by Day was launched at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Beijing and then later performed by Kate for schoolchildren at the epicentre of the earthquake in Sichuan, where Kate donated hundreds of musical instruments and books to the children with the monies raised. The song went on to raise money for the survivors of the Haiti earthquake in 2010 and the Japanese earthquake in 2011.

As a leading light in Scottish and International music, Katie has played for many well-known figures including members of The British Royal Family, China’s Vice Premier, Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, The Malaysian Royal Family, Sir Donald Tsang, Sir David Tang, Sir Sean Connery, Sir Billy Connolly, Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Michael Hill, Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Ian McGeechan and Vera Wang.

Kate is also regularly invited to act as a distinguished Master of Ceremonies, having hosted many international events for Prince of Wales Princes’ Trust, The Marie Curie Cancer Foundation, Sierra PMC, J.P Morgan, Netscout Arbor, Ceroc Pan Asia Dance Championships, Angels for Orphans and British Embassies worldwide. Her MA in Modern and Medieval Languages from Oxford University enables her to not only present in English but also in conversational Mandarin, Spanish, German and French.
