Wanting to start your conference with WOW factor but you've done everything under the sun?
We have the answer
Marcus Winter (AKA The Sandman) blurs the lines between conventional painting, street art and theatrical performance… his creations are powerful, mesmerising and if you turn away for a second… You might just miss something!
Telling stories through making images with sand, Marcus has been wowing audiences by illustrating conference themes or messages through his art.
Marcus creates live artworks by placing sand on a lightbox, and manipulates sand to create images that morph into amazing stories tailored to your event or conference theme - he can even throw in your company logo!
A master of story-telling, Marcus can consult with clients about their themes or objectives and craft your conference theme or illustrate messages through sand... all mixed in with music!
Marcus is also a master of ink and paints, able to draw or paint live on stage, creating beautiful sepia landscape artworks live, usually of serene places, with mountains, trees, water- falls, rivers, old thatch huts).
Guests get to see a masterpiece created in 4-6 minutes and he can create 4-5 artworks per hour. Live art at events are often then auctioned e.g. charity events. He's ideal for corporate events, conference, product launch, gala dinners and awards nights.
I first saw Marcus on the TV show ‘Marae Investigates’ and thought what a talent - it would be great to have him end our first day of conference. His brief was to start with the sponsors an ... keep readingd our logo, include some key nature icons of New Zealand and possibly finishing with 100% Pure New Zealand. During the afternoon the speakers and delegates confirmed that we believe in the 100% Pure New Zealand marketing campaign with 100% Sure being mooted. Marcus assimilated what he had heard and observed and finished with great panache and humour. We were mesmerised throughout the performance and we couldn’t have finished a better way with many delegates saying it was the best artistic live performance they had ever seen.
