Ruby Tui is the 2019 World Rugby Female Sevens Player of the Year, a Tokyo 2020 Olympic Gold medallist and a dedicated mental health and wellbeing advocate.
Ruby is using her platform and positive energy to make a difference in New Zealand and around the world. Impacting change through speaking out about public issues, and providing motivation and gratitude to her peers is how she would like to leave her mark.
In 2022, Ruby published her autobiography ‘Straight Up’ a raw and honest account of her journey to becoming an Olympic champion and the world’s best rugby sevens player.
Off the field, Ruby is a regular commentator for SKY TV, an Ambassador for the NZ Olympic Team and passionate about mental health within the sporting community.
Ruby is the current ambassador for the Headfirst initiative and her chosen charity is Women’s Refuge Westport.
