Steve joined Foodstuffs New Zealand in 2012 in the role of Group General Manager Marketing. In this role Steve was charged with building a strong cross-company overlay for the Groups marketing strategy; building group wide capability, adding impact to national programs and strategies, and driving change and innovation. Since joining Foodstuffs, the group has seen a turnaround in market share performance, securing significant growth in the face of tough competition and extensive store development initiatives from Australian competitor Countdown.

Prior to joining Foodstuffs Steve’s last corporate role was General Manager Marketing for Air New Zealand. During his 6 year tenure the airline went from the aftermath of a near bankruptcy to the Best Airline in the World - as judged by Air Transport World. Often referred to as the Oscars of the airline industry. At Air New Zealand Steve was responsible for the Global Marketing & Sponsorship Teams, Direct Customer Communications, Airpoints and Tier Recognition Programs, and the Branded Journey including Premium Customer and Lounges Group.

Prior to joining Air New Zealand, Steve started his marketing career with International Brewer Lion Nathan where he held a variety of Marketing Management roles before heading Lion’s Marketing Best Practice development. He was also the Group Marketing Trainer across New Zealand, Australia, and China.

He then moved to the States as VP Marketing and President Business Development with a major US bottled water and coffee company before eventually returning to Australia to head up Coca Cola’s Business Development area including non-carbonated beverages, new product development, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Feedback from our team on Steve's presentation was overwhelmingly positive. Steve is a very relaxed speaker who managed to weave interesting stories into a really engaging presentation in the "after lunch" time slot. The points he made regarding branding and the customer really hit home with the current position of our business. A total success! Kiwi Property Group Limited
