Suzanne
Paul

One of NZ's much loved personalities

Knowing what to do isn’t enough - you’ve got to know how to make yourself do it

Profile

Inspirational speaker Suzanne Paul arrived in New Zealand from the working-class streets of Wolverhampton in 1991 with just $18 in her pocket and a fierce determination to succeed.

Despite the challenges of a learning disability that brought anxiety and low self-esteem, Suzanne channelled her boundless optimism and natural gift for sales into building one of the country’s most successful direct marketing empires. Her iconic products, such as Natural Glow and the Suzanne Clip, became household names, and within five years, she had transformed herself into a multimillionaire and one of New Zealand’s most beloved public figures, complete with her own TV shows. In 2007, she further captured the nation’s heart by winning Dancing with the Stars.

Life took a dramatic turn at 50 when Suzanne lost everything and was declared bankrupt. Though tempted to give up, she instead drew on the same resilience and skills that had built her earlier success. Starting over from nothing, she rebuilt her life step by step, launching new ventures and embracing fresh challenges.

Among her many accomplishments since then, Suzanne developed a clothing line for petite women, opened a boutique in Remuera, and spearheaded the success of Thin Lizzy Makeup in both New Zealand and Australia. She also became a bestselling author with But Wait, There’s More, a book that shares her journey and practical wisdom on making dreams come true. A second edition is currently in the works, focusing on resilience and turning intention into action.

Now living her dream life once again, Suzanne Paul continues to prove that even in the face of adversity, reinvention is always possible—and that success is never out of reach.
