Arahi Maipi

One the most accomplished bi-lingual media personalities in Aotearoa

Profile

Te Arahi Maipi is one the most accomplished bi-lingual media personalities in Aotearoa. Raised with te reo Maori as his first language he has been the face and voice of some of the biggest events in NZ over the past decade including The ISPS Handa Halberg Awards, 2016 Summer Olympics (Sky TV) and Rugby World Cup 2011 (Maori TV).

Te Arahi has a unique ability to engage an audience on stage or on screen with warmth, humour, and natural use of both English and Te Reo Maori. He has recently MC’d events for The Halberg Foundation, Auckland Unlimited, NZTE, The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, Maori Sports Awards and Te Wananga o Aotearoa.

Born and raised on his marae in Waikato, Te Arahi is the CEO of the creative agency Mahi Tahi in Auckland. He is passionate about normalising te reo Maori, fanatical about sports, loves business and is pretty good at ping pong. If he isn’t at work, in front of a camera or on stage he’ll be with his wife and 4 kids chasing after their 2 grandsons.
